Cooking with Beer - Guinness Raisin Quick Bread

This quick bread is simply that - quick.  Any easy to make treat that is wonderful smeared with fresh sweet butter or cream cheese.

I used Guinness for this recipe but you can use any stout or dark beer you like. I'll bet it would be amazing with a bourbon barrel aged stout. Throw in some chopped dates, too! Hmmm . . .

Guinness Raisin Quick Bread

2 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 Tsp Baking Powder
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 12-Ounce Can of Guinness Draught
1/2 Cup Raisins
2/3 Cup Chopped Walnuts
1 Tsp Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350F. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl, then spoon into a greased loaf pan.

Bake 50 minutes. Serve warm or room temperature.

Makes one loaf.
