Craft Beer Bunch

Bunch is a new social media website designed to share and discuss topics with like-minded people. It's open to anyone and there are a wide variety of different bunches that are focused on specific subjects.  There's something for everyone - from yoga to geocaching to atheism to firearms.

I am the founding member for the Craft Beer Bunch.  This week I was the featured Founding Member and was interviewed by the Bunch staff.  Here is the result of the interview.

When do you remember first becoming interested in Craft Beer, and why. 

I have enjoyed drinking beer for many years.  In February of 2012 I decided to share my love of beer and my beer drinking experiences with other people by starting a blog - www.brauista.com.  I soon spun off reviewing  beer by starting to cook with beer, making cocktails with beer, infusing beer and even making soap with beer.  Writing about beer motivates me to seek out new and interesting brews.  It's a beerific adventure.

What beer related story does your family/friends always tell about you?

Since I began blogging about beer, I've developed a bit of notoriety.  My husband finds it amusing when we go to a pub or brewery or beer festival and someone shouts "Hey! Brauista!".  It's weird being kinda sorta famous but not really famous.


What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?

I have to admit that beer was the downfall of my goody-goody-ness.  I started partying with friends and chugging brews when I was in high school.  My parents were generally clueless and never noticed when I came home fall-down drunk. My downfall was my misguided teenage sense of invisibility.  I got caught drinking beer in broad daylight; practically spitting distance to my front door.  That little act of stupidity not only got me grounded but I was also restricted from going to my senior prom.  Yep, I was cute but not too bright.

What quote do you live by (most influential motivational etc.)

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

I love old movies, knitting socks, riding my motorcycle and I make a killer martini! Oh, and I'm a big klutz.



If you had one superpower, what would it be?

The ability to never ever ever ever get a hangover!  LOL!

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose

Spuds MacKenzie, hehe.  Seriously, Lara Croft - she's beautiful, independent, sexy and kicks butt!

What would you name the autobiography of your life?

Keep Calm and Carry On

What are you currently working on/doing now?

I am currently working on a cookbook including recipes using beer as an ingredient.  It's challenging and fun finding and testing recipes from appetizers to desserts.
