Rude Parrot IPA

Sometimes I buy a beer because I like a brewery. Sometimes because I like a particular style. Sometimes because it was recommended.

I bought this beer because liked the name. And the parrot on the label has a ring through it's beak. And, it's an IPA.

Cool name, fun packaging, and my favorite beer style.

All good reasons to buy a beer in my ever so humble opinion.

That's all well and good. But if the beer contained within is inferior, I just set myself up for a bit of a let down.

Fear not. I may have chosen frivolously but I also chose wisely.

Rude Parrot (5.90% ABV) is an American IPA brewed by 7 Seas Brewery.

It pours a clear bright amber with a big fluffy head of foam that leaves behind beautiful lacing.

The aroma is mouth watering pine and grapefruit hoppy goodness.

The taste is relatively light for what I've come to expect from a Northwest US IPA. That's not a bad thing, it just isn't quite as bold as I anticipated.

Gently sweet malt and toasty biscuit underlies the sharper resin and bitter citrus flavors. The finish is nicely dry and bitter/

The mouth feel is medium low with nice tingly effervescence.

Rude Parrot is quite good smooth and very drinkable without assaulting your taste buds.  A good all around IPA.

Overall: very good
