Faxe Royal Export

A couple of my friends recently went on vacation to the tropical island of St. Maarten. Sun, surf, cocktails, and all that happy stuff. Even with all that relaxing going on, they thought to bring me back a beer. I have the bestest friends!

This beer came in a big ass can! Not as big as my ass but bigger than any other canned beer I've ever seen. Moat Mountain's big can looks small, in comparison and Oskar Blue Gubna looks downright puny. 1000 milliliters translates to nearly 34 ounces. That, my friends, is a BIG can.

Royal Export (5.60% ABV) is a European Pale Lager brewed by Faxe Brewery (AKA Royal Unibrew) in Denmark.

It pours  straw yellow with a quickly diminishing bright white head. The foam left behind some fairly impressive lacing for such a light beer.

The aroma is faintly malty and some citrus notes.

The taste is sweet biscuity malt with some bitterness. This pretty much tastes like a typical adjunct lager, but a bit sweeter. A clean crisp finish.

The mouthfeel is light and the carbonation is lively.

This is a ridiculously drinkable and sessionable beer. I could knock back a few of these relaxing under a warm sun on a lovely white beach surrounded by warm turquoise waters.

I have to say I liked it. It is what it is and, for what it is, it's pretty good. (See how many times can I put "it is" in one sentence? Stupendous!)

Overall: Good

Thanks James and Lindsay. I can't wait for your next vacation!!
