Pumple Drumkin

I have to admit I'm getting pretty tired of drinking pumpkin beers. I've consumed a lot of different ones in the past couple months - some more than once - and I've had just about enough.

Then I came across this bottle of Pumple Drumkin and the cuteness of the pumpkin dude on the label sucked me in and I had to buy it. That's one seriously cute little punkinhead.

That and I've never had a beer from Cisco Brewers and that's an enticement all on its own.

Pumple Drumkin (6% ABV) pours a clear reddish orange with a smallish head.

The aroma is a wafting of mellow spices with tease of pumpkin.

Taste is kind of light but the spices come through. The pumpkin, again, is a tease. The flavor is there but it's subtle and tricky to wrap your tastebuds around.  There is also a clear malt presence that sweetens up the beer a bit but this is not an overly sweet beer. Some spices linger in the finish along with a lingering bitterness.

The mouth feel is somewhat thin with gentle carbonation.

Like I said, Pumple Drumkin is pretty light tasting. But not in a bad way, it's simply not big and bold like many other pumpkin beers are. I enjoyed it.

Overall: pretty good.
