MoM Hefeweizen

What's a holiday without beer, really?  Even Mother's Day, that pseudo holiday dreamed up by some marketing dude to sell cards and flowers, wouldn't be the same without a cold brew celebrate.

I'm a mom and  I'll take the beer and skip the flowers, thank you very much! I even got myself a special beer for the occasion.

Rogue makes a beer just for mom's!  Well, I guess it's not just for moms. But it says MoM on the label!

MoM Hefeweizen (4.8% ABV) - previously known as Half-E-Weizen - is a wheat beer brewed with coriander and ginger.

The beer poured a clear golden color.  At first. Hefeweizen is the name given to unfiltered wheat beers; which explains the cloudy appearance in the glass. The head builds to a bright white pile of fluffy bubbles that laces the glass prettily.

The aroma has a definite ginger beer quality to it; a wheaty ginger beer.

On the first sip, I was immediately struck by the wheat.  But in a way that was more smelled than tasted at the back on the palate.  Both the ginger and coriander present nicely but not overwhelmingly.  MoM has a surprisingly bitter finish, not in a big way but unexpected.  Very nice.

The mouthfeel is nice and light.  Very smooth.  Now, I don't know if I was just very thirsty when I drank this or if this is a ridiculously quaffable beer but I just wanted to gulp it right down.

I liked it.  I could've drank the whole bomber without a second thought. Overall: very good
